Electrical Field Technician - Contract
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced electrical field technician to support arc flash studies, power quality surveys, and electrical system testing across industrial and commercial facilities in the Southeast region.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical testing and measurements under engineer supervision
- Collect field data for arc flash studies and power systems analysis
- Conduct infrared thermography surveys of electrical equipment
- Document as-built electrical system configurations
- Assist with commissioning and acceptance testing activities
- Prepare field reports and data summaries
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in electrical field work or testing
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems
- Experience with electrical testing equipment (multimeters, megohmmeters, power quality analyzers)
- NFPA 70E electrical safety training and arc-rated PPE experience
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel 50-75% throughout Southeast US
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed technical procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license or electrical engineering technology degree
- Experience with infrared thermography (Level I certification preferred)
- Familiarity with SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or similar power systems software
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
